Concrete Garage Demolition
Even though this is a concrete garage structure, we would always strive to classify this demolition as a bonded asbestos garage roof demolition. The reason we like to name each demolition project is it sets scene for the team prior to and during the demolition.
In this case, it informs the team that we have a bonded asbestos roof demolition project so it sets the asbestos as the priority in our minds so we prepare correctly. Within our site risk assessment we are immediately looking to remove and seal the bonded asbestos accordingly so we can transport it to the nearest licensed land fill in line with HSE guidelines. Once we can be sure that the priority has been removed fully removed from the demolition project site we can then address the main structure accordingly.
Concrete Slabs
This type of structure was typical of garage builds to enable a quick erection once a firm base had been put in place. Concrete slabs support each other and are held in place by bolts and brackets. As long as each concrete slab is removed systematically then this should be a safe dismantle. If removed incorrectly then you will have a whole concrete wall that will not only fall, they can generally pull down the rest of the garage slabs in an erratic chain reaction.
Concrete Garage Demolition – Images
The images above provide a nice insight into how the concrete garage demolition site was constructed and installed by the original builder.
What is nice is that effectively this garage is a little bit of a Lego type build and simple in construction which is why it was utilised so much by local builders and home owners alike.
It’s always nice on garage demolition jobs when the customer wants a complete removal and make good. This where the roof, wall construction and supporting concrete slab is removed and the garage footprint and immediate surrounded area is made good as per customer requirements.
We have tried to show you slightly different garage demolition projects from our back catalogue as they all have varied priorities and challenges as regards deconstruction. You can be assured that a safe garage demolition is our top priority but that doesn’t mean we cannot keep you informed through the whole job and leave the area as clean as possible.
