Bonded Asbestos Garage Roof
It has to be said that the building industry is generally driven by customer demand. Over the last few years there has clearly been is a purge of all the old self build type concrete garages. The biggest issue for us with a lot of these is the safe removal of the corrugated bonded asbestos garage roof sheets.
Inline with current HSE (Health & Safety Executive) guidelines, all bonded asbestos roof sheets must be dismantled in a systematic and compliant manner to ensure safety is maintained during and after the roof removal. All sheets must be wrapped/bagged and sealed accordingly before being transported correctly to a suitable licensed landfill site.
Now obviously there is a bit more to it than this but generally, any asbestos bonded roof sheets are given priority when approaching a bonded asbestos garage roof demolition project.
We would not advise any customers to undertake this on their own as it is a specialist area requiring operatives who have had the requisite training and awareness courses.
The stability of any of these bonded asbestos garage roof installations is reliant on a firm supporting structure and also a solid base. Sometimes we have to remove structures that have been assembled straight onto the earth; natural ground movement over the years can then disturb the supporting walls and compromise the stability of the bonded asbestos garage roof.

The images above provide a nice insight into how the bonded asbestos garage demolition site was constructed and installed by the original builders.
We have chosen a few various garage designs that support bonded asbestos garage roof builds. Some of these builds are very stable and some are at risk to ground movement and the natural elements. One in particular above was ready to collapse on it own accord. This particular garage had to be dismantled with additional operatives to ensure the whole structure could be safely dismantled whilst not compromising the bonded asbestos roof sheets.
For us, we are looking to get the bonded asbestos garage roof sheets safely dismantled, wrapped and to a licensed landfill site as soon as practical. Once off site we can then re-assess the next part of the garage demolition which is generally without asbestos involvement.
We have tried to show you slightly different garage demolition projects from our back catalogue as they all have varied priorities and challenges as regards deconstruction. You can be assured that a safe garage demolition is our top priority but that doesn’t mean we cannot keep you informed through the whole job and leave the area as clean as possible.
